    LCDC Endorsement Process for Non-Partisan Races

    The Loudoun County Democratic Committee has adopted a policy for endorsing candidates in non-partisan races such as Town Council and School Board elections. This policy formalizes the way in which we will endorse a candidate, to ensure the process will be transparent and have integrity. This policy was passed at the May 3rd, 2018 membership meeting.

     Former secretary of state and part-time Loudoun County resident Madeleine Albright on Sunday threw her support behind Leesburg vice mayor Kelly Burk for this November's mayoral election.

    Albright headlined a fundraiser for Burk at the Leesburg Diner, where scores of Democrats, including state Sen. Jennifer Wexton, Loudoun County Chairwoman Phyllis Randall and congressional candidate LuAnn Bennett, displayed their support for Burk over interim mayor David Butler and Kevin Wright, a former town council member.
